When Did Airlines Get Dress Codes?

Hey Silverhorners! welcome up to Silverhorn Lodge, high atop Silverhorn Mountain..etc etc..

Well it seems that the good folks at Southwest Airlines have taken a bit of an interest in ladies fashions, and have a dress code for their airlines, one that doesn't include short skirts or white tops. Either that or their staff just like to embarrass the passengers to tears....

A 23 year old woman was asked to leave a flight to Arizona because the flight attendant didn't think the woman was dressed 'appropriately' I'm not sure what the actual inappropriate part was, I thought it was OK to wear white before Labour Day....But no, Kyla Ebbert was asked to leave the plane because in the alleged (don't you love it when people use the word 'alleged' sounds so legal) words of the alleged flight attendant,

"You're dressed inappropriately. This is a family airline. You're too provocative to fly on this plane,"

Dressed to provocatively? To fly on a plane? Excuse me, the only reason I ever got on a plane back when I was in my 20's was to see the provocatively dressed flight attendants...I haven't been on a plane in a few years but I shudder to think what the old attendants look like now....it seems they have gotten prudish of late.

So if a short skirt is too provocative, what the heck do they do when they catch a couple in the washroom trying out for a membership in the 'mile high club'?? Open the door and throw them out?

I am becoming concerned about what appears to be a slight shift to a more conservative approach to some things, almost um...taliban like....what's next a veil for all the cute girls handed out just before the inflight movie?

Who decides what is 'too provocative"? That I would like to know..what do they do send representatives to the fashion shows in the spring and fall to track and decide what outfits are going to be to provocative to wear on a plane? What standards do these "monitors of provocative people" (MOPP) follow? I would love to see the manual, does it come with pictures?

Geez I hope that the flight attendants don't get a job on cruise ships, that could make hanging around the pool downright boring.....

If they want to put in a dress code, please include old men in yellow pants and shirts and white shoes and belts....man I hate that....oh yeah, Crocs too...lets get them off planes....and feet...make tires out of them or something....but I digress...

Anyway, it seems that after some careful inspection and perhaps some retrospection, the young lady in the short skirt was allowed back on the plane after she adjusted her sweater. Apparently she had to cover her stomach...since when did a stomach or as we like to say around the lodge, 'bare midriff' become obscene...Marcello has been standing around in a too small t-shirt for years....But Kyla said she was humilated and embarrassed...geez...my lawyer...who I believe was Kramer's lawyer on Seinfeld, would own the airline by the time we got done with the lawsuit.....

I'm think you can find a picture of the provocative outfit and Kyla Ebbert HERE but if you are looking for a provocative sexy outfit you will be disappointed...
