Hey Silverhorner's Welcome back to The View From Silverhorn Mountain.
If you have heard the news tonight, you have heard that the experts are concerned the internet is running out of room.....uh-huh...running out of room.
I am suspicious of "experts" at the best of times, but now I am really suspicious. There was never any mention of this happening before. Not before little Wally Blogger started his blogging empire and millions of us jumped on the blog bandwagon, posting our thoughts, opinions and nude pictures on our little blogs. Way back when blogs were called "weblogs" and only webmasters knew what the Hell they were.
Now, all of a sudden they (the experts) are starting to make noises about the internet running out of room. Well, those of us in the know, and that doesn't include me, have known that this was a possibility for a long time. What I don't think anyone counted on was prolific bloggers piling on the content day and night, twenty-four hours a day. Now are are talking about internet 'brownouts' and we need to spend all kinds of money to upgrade....smells like a conspiracy to me...whenever someone wants you to spend money....think conspiracy...you'll be surprised at the rash conclusions you can jump to.
But is it true? Is the internet running out of room? Are bloggers to blame? Think about it...if you were a politician or government official exposed as a fraud or sex fiend by a blogger, you just might be a little pissed off with the whole blogging concept. So what could be better than to start talking about how the internet is running out of room. Almost like convincing people that a certain little country has started an illegal nuclear bomb making factory, or are harbouring terrorists....
I used to believe the internet was endless, an endless supply of 'stuff' I mean what else can you call the content on the internet besides 'stuff' Well...I suppose you could call it 'porn' and 'nude pictures' Lets face it, the internet has a healty supply of smut, porn, sexuality and nude pictures of celebrities and non celebrities.
So lets get real about this folks. I am not prepared to let my blogging career slip through my fingers. But it sounds like we need to cut back. So...take a few days off from your blogging and let the interent have some breathing room.
So...because we are in the know around here, and because Marcello, Chief Garden Gnome is a great researcher, we heard about this some time ago. So we wanted to do our part to save the internet, so we stopped posting for a couple of months to save the space for other folks.....
