Hey Silverhorner's How's it going tonight! Welcome up to majestic Silverhorn Lodge. We're glad you dropped by.
Tonight is a medical post, something I came across that I thought you might be interested in knowing, especially if you still have your appendix...yup...this is all about appendicks...um...appendicies...ahh....well...you know what I mean.
According to a report released by the University of Calgary, researchers have discovered a link between Stephen Harper and George W. Bush.....no wait, sorry, that's not it...oh yes, the University researchers have discovered a link between pollution and appendicitis. The scientists studied 5000 people comparign them with Environment Canada data that showed hourly levels of ozone, nitrogen dioxide, sulfer dioxide and carbon monoxide.
These astute studiers of stuff found that in the summer there was a small but increased risk of ending up in the emergency room and being hospitalized for appendicitis. The conclusion they arrived at was this was because in the summer, more people are outside leading to a suspicion that appendix troubles exist mostly in industrialized countries, where pollution is higher. It's summer, you're outside more, smelling the pollution....
So...what can we learn from this piece of juicy information, especially if you live in an industrialized country. Well, I am no doctor, but my thoughts are if you live in an industrial area and still have your appendix, don't go too far from a hospital.
There ya go, I have completely outdone myself when it comes to writing completely useless blog posts....perhaps it has something to do with the pollution from the pulp mill down the mountain from the lodge. On a clear day you can almost see the lake....

Tough Times On Silverhorn Mountain
Hey Silverhorner's! Welcome back to Silverhorn Lodge, high atop Silverhorn Mountain, overlooking the beautiful fall colors of Silverhorn Valley!
Well...seems the economy is in the crapper.
Yup....
Nuff said about that....
Actually, I can't leave it at that. It seems that fighting wars in foreign lands isn't as good for the financial straits of a country as some may have hoped. The United States are in a heap of financial difficulty, and here in Canada, it sounded for a while like our leaders didn't think that would affect us....think about that, our biggest neighbor and customer goes into a financial downturn and our guys in charge don't think it's going to have much impact on Canada....well...as the Toronto Stock Exchange took a tumble this morning to the tune of 10% it seems they might have had that part wrong. The TSX closed down 572.92 points after earlier plunging almost 1,200 points. That...in financial terms...ain't good...
Now, first of all, let me say this...don't panic...whatever you do...don't panic and here is why, you don't have any money to lose anyway, if you did, you wouldn't be sitting there reading this, taking financial advice from me....The folks with real money have already panicked and sold their computers along with everything else of value and moved to a small caribbean island with no taxes and no government to screw things up, just them, their money and a few machine guns...they don't panic unless the neighbors start to get restless.
I hate to cut this short but the soup kitchen just opened down in the Silverhorn Valley and I have to get there before the lineup gets any longer, I hate standing in line next to the bank manager....

Marcello and I and the rest of the gang here at Silverhorn Lodge would like to send a special Silverhorn Mountain Get Well Soon Yodel to an old mountain man friend who has recently had a little health setback but is now on the road to recovery, YooooodeellllaaaaadeeeehoooooooootoyouBOBBI Get well sooooonnnnnn! Actually Bobbi is so old we thought he was long past surviving a medical procedure and was really just living in the hands of the Lord, on borrowed time so to speak, but it seems the doctors these days can fix damm near anybody....it's too bad that my car mechanic wasn't more like a doctor....
